$8 Million Jury Verdict

A huge congratulations to Taylor Rouse and his client on receiving an $8 million jury verdict!
Our client is a local doctor who built her practice from the ground up. After years of hard work, she hired two nurse practitioners to help her growing business. Our client trusted those employees to be an extension of herself and help guide the growing practice.
Instead, the evidence showed that the employees conspired to open their own business and move the patients to their new practice, all while employed. For example, the evidence showed the defendants—while on the clock in our client’s office—canceling appointments and rescheduling them at their new business. The evidence was overwhelming and the jury awarded Taylor’s client $2 million in compensatory damages and $6 million in punitive damages. Their message was clear—we work hard in this community, and we will punish those who cut corners and try to steal the livelihood of others.
